Where to Plant
There are many conditions that need to be taken into consideration when installing a new landscape. When planting trees, shrubs, and flowers you must take into consideration the surrounding environment. Factors such as, the kind of soil we will be planting in and drainage (will it drain well for the planting or will it hold too much moisture) are examples of conditions to consider. We also need to know how much sun exposure certain plantings need in order to know where on your property they can be placed. Some plantings thrive in full sun while others need shade. We need to know if we are planting under other larger trees, what those trees are and if they could be toxic to the new plantings? Lastly, if the area we will be planting in is a dry area or a damp area, certain plantings require more or less water than others and will not survive if constantly too wet or too dry.
Planting & Maintenance
Digging proper sized holes is important when installing trees, shrubs and flowers. The hole needs to allow for proper space around the root system of the planting. When installing new plantings we need to make sure they are getting the proper nutrients. Certain soils are not adequate for planting so we need to take added measure. Plantings installed with the right mixture of soils and nutrients will prosper. Also, plantings can not only be under watered, but over watered as well. We need to know what kind of tolerance each planting has to know the amount of water it should be receiving. We will be able to help you with a proper watering schedule after the plantings are installed. When finishing off the landscape, mulch helps hold moisture into plantings while sometimes decorative stone will hinder their development. Hiring a knowledgeable contractor makes all the difference.
